I did not see this one personally, but heard about it.
Grumpy neighbor from down the camp road comes into the dining room and says the singing is too loud. Tone it down or else. And stomps out of the room
The room goes into debate for the next few minutes. It boils down to the classic he says / he says:
Macher # 1 (who would go on to be General # 1) says tone it down, we don’t want any trouble.
Macher # 2 (who would go on to be General # 2) says, no way..pump up the volume!
Kids and staff go into high gear, and sing till the windows shake.
5 minutes later, in walks Mr. Grumpy.. with a shotgun. And says, “did’nt I tell you to tone it down? Who did not understand what quiet means?”
Macher # 1 says, (pointing to # 2), “I told him to tone it down, but he would’t listen!”
Mr. Grumpy walks over to Macher # 2, grabs him by the shirt, drags him out of the room (and out of sight) and fires!
The camp goes wild, kids are crying.. pandemonium!
And the next thing you know, in walks # 2 (with Mr. Grumpy, who is now smiling) and says, “COLOR WAR!”
How’s that for a breakout! (or breakdown, in the case of bunk Aleph)
