Muni meters are a royal pain, and interfere with our right to the pursuit of happiness (or shopping). When there is snow on the ground (especially when it is icy), it becomes a sakana to have to go all the way down to the muni meter then back to the car again. And if you are not parked near the store, it is a triple trip. If you have a child in tow, it means shlepping them out of the car, possibly in very inclement weather. Whoever thoughrt this idea up should be forced to feed the meters all day long.
