You could enclose a note saying “In keeping with the theme of our economy, we are downsizing our shalach manos, too.” either put in only two items needing two different brachos, or put only really mini-items (tiny choclate bar as opposed to a full-size, animal cracker instead of cookies, mini bottles of booze, etc.
On second thought – boy would our neighbors feel cheated!!!!!
