He first tried to register his sons at the Yesodeh Hatorah boys’ school (the school is subsidized by the government), when they refused to accept them, he took the school to court, but he didn’t win the case, so he tried his luck at the Belzer school. The boys’ cheder is not subsidized (they don’t follow the government program), so they can legally refuse the kids, however the girls’ school (Benoth Yerushalaim), is subsidized so they took legal action against the girls’ school and won. (I believe the school appealed to the higher court).
