People spend much much more on clothing and food for yomim tovim like succos and certainly pesach and we laud them and tell them that money spent on a mitzah will be returned. We make spending more on the arba minim seem like a neccesity. buying judaica items in silver is the norm, yet if someone chooses to honor the mitzah of mishloach monos in a nice way they are villified? Each of you do what you want and stop telling other people how they should be mekayem the mitzvos as long as they are doing so al pi halacha.
