you eat a hamantaschen or 2 or 3… and you savor the authentic yiddisha ta’am. you can have it with chocolate, poppy, apricot, raspberry or any filling flavor you like. you can eat it with a cup of coffee (yes Moderator no sugar and 2% milk) , soda, seltzer, milk, chocolate milk, tea, juice, hot choclate, beer… and you feel good the rest of the day and the following morning
you eat a latke (which has become so Americanized) with brocoli, spinach, sweet potato… the only thing left to add any authenicity to it is the oil, so when you actually find one made out of real potatoes and not kugel mix, you grab and grab until you eat a dozen or 2 or 3… and the next couple hours and certainly the next day, you don’t feel so good. latkes can only be eaten with soda, seltzer or beer. and don’t get started on baked latkes… those are potato pancakes, not latkes
ever have a latke with a cup of coffee?
