I don’t know what you mean by adversity. The elements of prescription are:
Continuous (no breaks)
Open and notorious (not hiding use)
Actual (actually entering and using)
Hostile (without permission)
It sounds like you think there is an element that it needs to also hurt the owner, but that isn’t so.
