Mazal, that’s where the problem starts why some like to keep it a secret. people tell only of the type 2’s that got blind, had heart failure, had to take down a finger etc.and everything comes from that scary word : DIABETES, right? and this gives us, type 1’s automaically a bad name!(by shiduchim, car license, work, etc.)
That’s why I’m very thankfull for rav meisels, that he talks so openly about it, and shows the world, that type 1 and 2 are completely different things (he says, he doesn’t even know why it has the same name…;-))and shows the world that we can live a ‘normal’ life!
