No email…, maybe you visited Zurich on Mars or Venice? I visited Switzerland, including Zurich, on Earth. I saw it and others had similar experiences. If you go in a Chareidi (meaning looking very different) clothing, you definitely get very dirty and hostile looks. If you just wear a yarmulke, the hostility is somewhat less.
