They were saying how Holocaust survivors thought that Frumkeit would be non-existent after the Holocaust and they were so shocked and overjoyed when they came to America and saw so many new Yeshivas and Shuls that were starting all over and prospering….more than they could ever imagine.

June 2, 2013 3:09 pm at 3:09 pm #956240DaMosheParticipantI once took my grandmother shopping on Avenue J, on a Sunday morning. There was no parking on J, and I ended up parking on Avenue I, across from Chaim Berlin. It was a nice spring day, and the windows of the yeshiva were open. We could hear the children learning from the open windows. My grandmother asked me if we could stop for a minute and listen. She told me, “I love listening to children in yeshivos learning! Hitler killed my family, and he tried to kill all the Jews, but here we are, listening to kids learning, and Hitler is gone! This is the greatest revenge against Hitler, having our children learning!”

But why get technical about where the school is? The point is lost now.

June 2, 2013 10:51 pm at 10:51 pm #956251147ParticipantI witnessed an unbelievable Nekomo as recently as today. The throngs of so many Jews with such Achdus at the Israel Day Parade was such an awesome sight and yes:- What a slap to H Yemach Shemo vZichrono.
