Simcha is ambiguous. You must refer to a current instance of class.

Just because in adar you are “Marbin” bisimcha doesn’t mean you have to be sad the rest of the year. To the contrary- in Av you are “mimatin” bisimcha- meaning you are happy the rest of the year. Of course if that doesn’t work for you, you can always try Gumball’s suggestion- and get help…from Captain Jack!

It doesn’t say to start lessening simcha any time before Av. Calm down. 😉
