I was looking at some CIA world statistics about various countries and one thing that struck me was that of all the countries with a significant Jewish population, English speaking countries generally are the safest for us, experiencing the least amount of violence specifically targeting Jews.
I was wondering why English speaking countries tend to be safer than non-English speaking countries for Jews. Are the English less antisemitic than other gentiles? Or do they tend to offer better law enforcement and protection from those that seek to do us harm?
Some other ideas to consider:
Perhaps it is the religious background of the country? Many non-English speaking countries were traditionally Catholic and may have a culture based on anti-Jewish Church teachings, even if these countries are not as religious now, the anti-Jewish sentiment is still there. Example, France, or (pre-war) Poland. Germany on the other hand was heavily influenced by Martin Luther.
Maybe the English speaking countries tended to be greater melting pots, attracting people of different backgrounds, more tolerant. Didn’t succumb to Fascism or Communism.The Netherlands is a nominally Protestant Country and Jews generally thrived there (Except during the Holocaust).
Sweden isnt relgious at all and its the most anti-semtic country in Europe
Italy was also a safe country for jews (I think Italy had the highest survival rate of any decent sized jewish population during the war (It was either France or Italy)) in any country invovled in World War 2
ZD: England had a higher survival rate during WWII.
England was never occupied or part of the Acis. I meant countries occupied by the Axis (Italy was part of the Axis, and then tried to switch sides in 1943 and the northern section was occupied by the Nazis and the southern section by the Allies)
Ironically, the Zionists turned Israel into a state that among places with a significant Jewish population, has the distinction of having one of the highest — if not the highest — rates of violence that target Jews specifically.
And this from a state that is supposed to be the place Jews will run to in case other places become dangerous. What they ignore is that the Jews in Israel might have to seek refuge elsewhere if Israel becomes too dangerous. It’s no wonder that so many Israelis seek a second passport. And there are so many tens or hundreds of thousands of Israeli expats now living in New York and other places in the US, North America, Europe and Asia.
(Now we can expect a torrent of indignant replies from the in-house Zionists saying, in effect, “but our state’s rate of violence is less than that of the inner cities with large minority populations and few Jews, that are infested with drug crimes and minority-on-minority violence”, that is almost irrelevant to Jews.)
The English certainly have a history of antisemitism. The Jews were expelled from England in 1290 and weren’t readmitted until more than 350 years later. Between the World Wars, many members of the British upper class were admirers of Hitler, Y”MS. The United States also has a history of antisemitism. Think Henry Ford, Father Coughlin, and Charles Lindbergh.
