What is interesting is that at the time the Jews were sinning with the seuda, Hashem already saved them by killing Vashti and providing a savior for the future. We say in the Haggadah ‘הקב’ה מצילנו ‘מידם Hashem protects us through their hands. Also, Achashverus did not reward Mordechai on the spot but wrote it up for the future.

She had to be executed and not banished or Achasheverus, when he regret it, could have reinstated her.

    “Were they approved first?“

Well Reb eliezer saw my post so it was approved

“I checked under the tables and under all the beds. I don’t see any delwted or spammed posts“

You know you shouldn’t be looking for it when you’re drunk, and you shouldn’t be drinking Purim night

My part to Reb Eliezer noted that the question seems to be whether Vashti was executed before she was 20 years old or after being 20.

And I asked whether the age of responsibility for non-Jews is in fact 20 years of age. I think it is earlier for them.

Joseph, the question was whether she has reached the age of 20 and she can be executed or wait another month because the year was not completed yet because it became meubar?

My comment was if she was excommunicated Reb eliezer said why couldn’t achashverosh take her back

So I answered maybe there was a clause that he couldn’t

Reb Eliezer, even if Vashti was still 19 why would a drunk Achashveirus wait until she’s 20 before beheading her? Is 20 the age of responsibility for non-Jews under Jewish law or under Persian law? If under Jewish law, why would Achashveirus be adhering to Jewish law? Furthermore, under Jewish law the age of responsibility is 13/12.

Vashti was beheaded, her head placed on a silver platter and presented to Achashveirush at the party.

The Yalkut Shimoni above is at 1051, Esther 2, says she got killed and does not say how, nost probably beheaded, and aftewards, Ahashverus was very upset at his advisors. She held back the rebuilding of tbe Beis Hamikdash, so this was a punishment from Hashem.

Doesn’t the Medrash say that even though Vashti HaMalka was very pretty that Esther HaMalka was even prettier?

    #1949000

    >> even though Vashti HaMalka was very pretty that Esther HaMalka was even prettier

That’s what he (the King) said …

We need to learn something from Vashti! Otherwise, it is not clear why she is in the Megillah, other than explaining why the King became single.

AAQ: What can we learn from Vashti?

We know that she was cruel to the Jews.

Even when the Jews were sinning at the sudah, Hashem thinks of them and kills their enemies. This was a result of Vashti being so beutiful and the king wanting to show her of. The Ksav Sofer explains that in order to have a competitive beauty contest they all had to dress the same. Vasbti could not wear cloth of a comoner, neither the others her royal cloth, so there was no other optiion than wearing no clothes. She had to appear with only a crown as a punishment for having Jewish girls work for her unclothed on shabbos.

    @klugeryid

We’ve had this discussion numerous times in various threads in the CR.

Although it may not be what you learned in Yeshiva, the mainstream opinion of Rishonim and Gedolei Acharonim is that Medrashim and Agadeta Gemaros are not Torah M’Sinai and we are not required to accept them as being literally true.

Ujm AAQ: What can we learn from Vashti?

Why do Jews answer question with a question?
    Who told you that?

Maybe, it has a lesson for women, as they are obligated in reading the megillah more than the other parts of Torah?! Beware of your husband even when he is trying to prove that you are the most beautiful woman in the belt? One wrong word, one bad friend, and he is ready for the beauty pageant?

Btw, Trump wasn’t the first head of state to run beauty pageant, aheshverosh was. But Trump had more wives. Both have Jewish children

For balance to the misogyny above, pesachim quote another King on how to answer questions about the menu: ask the Queen, and everyone should follow that and not be demanding
