I would have to give a lot to taxes and then I would give maaser to Yeshivos and my sisters who are living on a kollel budget and then I would use the rest to support my family so that my husband (whoever he might be) will be able to learn without any worry of parnasah.

section yud-gimel – blogging while moderating: moderators may blog while moderating in one of two ways 1) commenting under their moderator screen name, or 2) inserting a comment within the comment of a submission by a non-moderator.
so… I guess we are allowed to afterall. :o)

yros: sorry, but i’m not playing games with you! it’s a known fact around here that the mods used to all be members! they even use their real member sn from time to time, although us members don’t know which sn are actually a mod’s in reality! and come on the mods need a break from time to time from modding, to have fun & blog with us!

2) do I need to quote the section and subsection from the handbook or does it suffice to write, the short answer of NO?

jax: no, i don’t think you’re a mod. for one thing you spend too much time on as jax, you wouldn’t use it as often if you were on as a mod! (but its not impossible…)

now that I know that I am allowed to blog, despite yros’s assumption that I’m not, I can tell you that I do have another sn which I still use occassionaly. Don’t bother guessing because 72 said I am not allowed to reveal it and he outranks me. I wouldn’t want to face the modding disciplinary board. 🙂

That’s the trigger. Once the expected jackpot is over $144M, the game becomes in favor of the buyer. Of course, the caveat is that the jackpot number is not the lump sum after tax payout, so you have to adjust for that. Also, as the jackpot grows so does the number of players, and thus the likelihood of multiple winners. And the whole thing is moot because the law of large numbers does not work for once in a while events. So obviously I am trying to distract myself from what I should be doing instead right now.
$155M after factoring for cash value and after maaser and after taxes = a whole lot of coffee. thanks! you’re a good man charlie brown! oh… and look at the money I am saving you by skipping the sugar! :o)

whats your problem mod39- who said they wouldn’t give anything else in addition to masser to tzeddakah? We’re first tackling the masser part which is a must- and also happens to be $13 mil now! so one tiny little part of this mess at a time, wouldya? 😉

i bought a ticket for the $130 million, but didn’t even get one number correct! so, tomorrow i will be buying another ticket for the $155 million lotto, for friday night drawing!(thanx to ames[for asking] i know i’m allowed to buy it!)

The family Ireland fund is real money? I was always under the impression that his father’s “business” was a yeshiva, and Jax’s work there is in the bais medrash. Am I the only one who thought so?

tip to the winner: hold off on going to claim your prize! if you go right away to claim your prize, there would be a big hooplah and they’ll take your photo! then the lotto place has the right to give your photo to local papers to print an article of you as the winner! you have almost a full year to claim the prize! by then you can get your prize with the world knowing about it!
oh and one more think make you Estate the winner and not you, will save you a lot of headaches!
