Am I wrong????Actually somethings create more global emissions like portable generators
The major cause of carbon emissions is people. We exhale carbon dioxide. We also eat animals that in their life exhaled carbon dioxide. Since Shomer Shabbos people have lots of babies, we will sooner or later be seen as part of the problem. Remember that today’s “global warming alarmists” are the same people who screamed about “population bomb” in the 20th century (which in much of the world led to extreme anti-baby measures such as encouraging abortions, involuntary sterilization and “one child” policies).
As with most politically correct junk science (the “population bomb” of the late 20th century, the eugenic smovement of the early 20th century), there can be much to worry about, especially for Yidden.
Its the exact opposite from what i can see. The stove, oven, lights and AC on for 25 hours straight. And in Israel they usually have smoke inefficient propane generators every shabbos.
Maybe this would be true if we went like the tzidukim who lived in the dark all shabbos.
Remember those emergency days where they tell businesses to send people home to save energy? I think my couple of LED lights etc take up less energy once a week than all of these office towers leaving their computers on 24/7 and all weekend.
I bet if this were comprehensively looked at the one day a week would help.It’s disappointing to see Torah Yidden taking seriously what these days is called “climate change”. It’s nothing but deah acher, produced by human beings who quite simply do not believe in a Creator. Since they adopt that attitude – and since human beings are hard-wired to believe – they are forced to find some other thing to believe in, and this is what’s come out, just like the Eigel Zahav came out of the fire at Sinai.
Perhaps some of you are too young to know or remember, but in the 1970s, science was blaring in the media that a new ice age was approaching. Now they want people to believe that things are going to burn up. These people have no clue. When you dig into much of the research, you start to see falsified data, heavy uncertainty and computer climate models that don’t work and need to be redesigned. It’s all a lie.
Spend your time trying to understand a Gemara sugya or looking deeper into the Chumash. It’s the only thing that matters. Everything else is an illusion, at best, the yetzer hara trying to draw you away from Torah, at worst.
Being Shomer Shabbos does not mean we can physically destroy by human means what Hashem gives us. Even being shomer shabbos, when you step in front of a moving car you get killed. We are destroying the ozone layer through carbon emissions that Hashem created to protect us from the sun.
Melanoma, skin cancer caused by the sun is becoming more frequent because it is harder to protect ourselves.
Reb Eliezer: or perhaps because of changing fashions people are exposing themselves to more sunlight – in all fairness if you invited someone from a century or two ago to visit the present, they would think that nudists had taken over. I doubt the skin cancer is more common among frum Yidden, since we tend to wear clothes.
What about the face which is not covered? We must do less sun bathing.
One can get skin crancer in the exposed parts of the body like ears or face.I know first-hand. Let’s be careful in the sun, and use sun lotion.
The “hole” in the ozone layer is in the Southern Hemisphere, so it doesn’t affect anyone who lives in the USA, Europe, or Israel.
And that “hole” has probably been there every southern winter since the world was created. There’s nothing new about it.

That makes no sense, even if you believe the garbage the totalitarian left is putting out. Carbon dioxide has NO CONNECTION to the ozone layer.
