Others say you could be yotzei with a rock although the egel hazahav zatzal and the ba’al shor ve’chamor disagree, saying you need l’chol hapachos a chicken

Really, a person does not “own” a dog and a dog does not “own” a person. A person has a dog and the dog considers the person its master.

No. In that case, the dog owns the person. Until the person gets it euthanized, which is what PETA does.

We should let the dogs have an opinion. All in favor, say woof.

I bet they’ll say that the human owns the dog food, and the dog food bowl owns the dog food, and the dog owns the dog food bowl. Package deal.

No. You own the dog food, you give it to the dog. The dog is your pet, not your owner, child, or possession.
