    areiv:

    well

i was eating some pistachios and the question occurred to me.

obviously i posted it for the humorous side, but in truth i think its an interesting Halachic question, what are the parameters of bal tachkis?

not unlike the questions the Gemorrah often poses to elucidate details.

any one learning Daf Yomi will be aware of, just this week:

    1. the rooster, the rope and the pail

    2. the dog, the cookie, the fire and the haystack.

    3. goats jumping and falling off roofs

    4. roosters screaming into glass vessels

    5. chickens hopping around with items tied to their legs

    6. camels rubbing fire along the entire perimeter of a mansion.

and coming up, today i think: people taking snakes and jamming their fangs into someone to kill him.

a dog biting someone and the owner of the dog claiming in his defense: “what was your arm doing in my dog’s mouth?

    etc

squeak will surely get a good chuckle, but truly, this shaila makes one cry out – mi k’amchu yisroel! never would a prusta goy worry about baal tashchis, and certainly not to this extent.

    #643736

    rosh yeshiva,

you can’t go nuts if you were never normal to begin with.

    moish,

    I am certified salmonella free.

save the uncrackable ones, and give them to someone who owns a nutcracker.

PROOF! PROOF! PROOF! i want you to PROVE that you’re salmonella free. and certified by who? oh sorry, that’s not my rav!

joseph, clearly again you show how you think like someone who loves Hashem and his children

    oomis, excellent answer

    #643740

oops again! wow, that’s my third oops in one day! I didn’t mean to say feivel was never normal, I misread rosh yeshiva and thought he was telling moish that I was recalled because I went nuts and I was responding that I was never normal. Sorry feivel.

Return the uncrackable ones to the store for a refund (if you buy them by weight).

Just like we used to send our leftovers from supper to the poor starving people in Africa rather than throw them out!

we must be brothers!!! My mother also used to send our leftovers to Africa.

hey has that ever happened? that siblings or close friends found each other on here by accident? that would be really funny.

We had an uncle/niece reunion. YW Moderator-72

Um, didn’t we have some cousins using the same laptop find each other once? 🙂 YW Moderator-42

Mod 72: How was there an uncle neice reunion if no personal info is allowed to be posted?!

    syriansephardi,

good question. as you know, we do not allow personal information to be posted. In this case, based on the some of the more “vanilla” type of self information that was provided a family insider would be able to figure it out whereas the rest of us would not.

    #643752

    Oooh got it 😉

This reminds me of a time when someone asked me something and I gave them an answer (it wasn’t a halachic issue) and I followed it up by saying “Says Rabbi <insert my last name here>” – it took them a moment to catch on 🙂

    #643769

    Squeak,

I don’t think you’ve ever posted a serious post here, but in case you were serious that you think we’re brothers, it doesn’t seem that way. I don’t know who Chevy is and I’m not going to any kiddush that I know of this week. It would be really funny though if 2 posters here were actually siblings or parents and children.

charlie- you were supposed to play along…

    #643771

    areivim,

yeah, I should have. It would have been funny if I had, and then squeak would have called his brother charlie brown at the kiddush and his brother would have thought he lost his mind. Oh well.

why not throw them to the squirrels? I’m sure they would enjoy the treat, esp. now with so much snow!!!

Thats because we are all nuts and can relate to the topic. I wouldn’t be surprised if this was the longest thread 🙂

Incidentally, peanuts are not really NUTS.
