I know everybody had major plans for this Chol Ha’moed,

however, where did you really end up going, or what did

    you really end up doing?

I started by cooking up a storm in the kitchen, proceded to eat much

of said storm, then realized I put on some weight, so went hiking,

next day went shopping. Im going to concert on wed nite B”H.

(will be the guy in the b_h tee shirt J/K!)

Will this get past the mods? I went to a film festival 3 times. The first 2 times to see the free Charlie Chaplin movies. The 3rd time to attend a “master class” given by Elliott Gould. The Chaplin films were good, anyway.

I spent time in the library.

I went to the circus. Not the usual, everyday circus I attend. A different circus. It was kind of a letdown for me.

i enjoyed my day yesterday at CLOVE LAKE PARK. It is located in staten island and it has a beautiful lake it has wonderful walking paths and biking paths with hills. Right next to it is also an ice skating rink. Also there is a kiddie park. Also there is place to play ball and basketball courts/baseball. Yesterday it was packed with frum people

Clove Lake Park is also right near the Staten Island Zoo, which is a very nice small zoo with a wonderful petting zoo area. That is where I was yesterday with my family and we had a very nice time!

I played with a real, live 600 kilo bear and fed it three kiddushes worth of herring so it would not eat me.

Then I gave a shiur on “Burning your sukkah for fun and profit” al pi nevelus birshus hatoire d’Chassidus Creedmoor.

And if you believe that, I am also making kiddush on a four liter jug of zechs un ninetziger, straight from the hardware store, Simchas Torah night.

If so, then I’m in trouble, since I just went out and shopped for peppers, mushrooms, a cucumber, corn and Bacos for lunch. 🙂

Today’s outing: The Atlantis Aquarium in Riverhead (Long Island). Nice place, especially for little children. But a bit of a schlep from NYC.

No dolphins, but they do have a nice sea lion show, a really hands-on petting pool for stingrays (you can even feed them if you want!), and a very creative decor. They also had outdoor exhibits of otters and penguins. And even have diving with the sharks available – for a small fee of aprrox. $150, if you’re into that kind of thing!

Mchemtob: Have you ever been to the aquarium in Camden, NJ? Baltimore’s aquarium is beautiful, but I was also really impressed by the one in Camden. It is on par with Baltimore, if not better!

It is also a bit of a schlep from NYC, as it is just over the border from Philadelphia, but well worth it! (Just don’t venture around Camden itself, as that not a safe city.) And there is kosher food in nearby Cherry Hill, NJ, as well as, Philadelphia.

nymom – no have never been to camden but thanks for the tip we were talking about a trip to cherry hill because there is kosher and it’s a jump to philly (I think) so now i’ll make note of the aquarium too thanks!!

Mchemtob:You’re very welcome! Glad to be of help!

One other point of interest: There is also a battleship docked near the Camden aquarium, and they allow visitors to walk through. I believe it’s on the NJ side. This may or may not be of interest to you, but thought I’d mention it.

Wow! looks like you guys had a great time!

It’s nice to see how creative we can get (mod 72)

all the many different ideas that make us all unique.

Jax: I went to the Avraham Fried/ Lipa Concert in Brooklyn College.

Lemme tell you It was Awesome they were well prepared & although they

have generally different styles they were very in sync & meshed well.

there was also an extraordinary amount of humor between them.

The yiddish speaking oilem chapped major hanohoh!

A fried sang aleh katan dedicating it to Gilad Shalit,

ending the song with a touching….

    “Tachzik Chazak, ~Gilad Shalit!”

I’ll maybe give a whole drasha later about how much I enjoyed the Concert.

mazca: sorry 2 hear! well at lest u didnt sit around doing nothing.
