What happened to the other tznius thread? I can’t find it, and I had wanted to post something on it.
Even when threads are closed, you can usually still see them. Did it have a random name that I can’t remember and that’s why I can’t find it?
Girls and women who dress untzniusly are obviously confident with the way they look if they let everyone see how they look when they don’t have to.
No, lack of tznius comes from insecurity. If you’re comfortable with the way you look, you don’t know to show the whole world.
It might stem from other insecurities. Or from poverty.
The first time I saw a Burqa women was 4 years ago in Mea Shearim. It was very surprising to me. I just stared (and I think my wife did also), not even realizing I was staring. How ironic that she was trying to be tzniut but was stared at.

Yeah, where did “Lack of Tzniyus is out of Control” go? I don’t even see it as [closed]…
I actually started that thread as an attempt to settle what Meno brilliantly reffed to as the “unbelievable” dispute between Mod-29 and Joseph. Although I will admit that it would have at most gathered anecdotal evidence, which probably wouldn’t have swayed anybody from their firmly held beliefs…
But anyway, what did happen to it? I hadn’t checked up on it a while – did it really go so far that it was not just closed, but totally deleted?
And did anybody defend that behavior… and try to shut up anyone protesting that kind of behavior?

As I recall, near the end of the thread, mod 29 seemed to agree that people should be upset about people who are dressed untzniusly.
I actually did not contribute to the thread. I put in one post to explain a post that was deleted.
But in any case, “defending that behavior” and “trying to shut up anyone protesting that kind of behaviour” are two entirely different things.
I don’t recall if anyone “defended that behaviour” but maybe at the end someone did, and maybe THAT was the reason it was deleted.
And Joseph, I doubt it was deleted because the moderators were trying to shut up anyone protesting that kind of behavior. If that were the case, it would have been deleted a while before. It could have had to do with the more recent posts that we probably never saw.
I think the mods have stated in the past that when threads get closed, it’s often not because of what is seen, but because of what we don’t see.
Oh, I just realized though – that might only make sense if it were closed but not if it were deleted.
I didn’t realize you were responding to a deleted post (since it was deleted, I didn’t know about it), so I read it as an entity unto itself. Either way, it did imply that you don’t think that it’s a problem for people to be upset about lack of tznius (which of course doesn’t necessarily mean that you agree with any type of “protest”).
