With all the negativity that has been going around about the 5 towns, I would like to point out how much growth there has been in the amount of Shiurim and Torah that goes on there. Yes not every community is perfect, but we must look at the good in every single Jew and in every single Jewish community. And Chas Vishalom to say something negative about any Jew or community. I’m sorry to anyone that lives in the 5 towns, or anyone that has been hurt by previous threads. For the 5 towns is one of the best Torah and chesed loving communities in the America.

To some of those living in Willy, BP or other crowded Brooklyn neighborhoods, 5T may seem OOT but it really has it all from the perspective of a frum couple or family seeking to relocate but stay close to real world, Housing is expensive but not much more so than those “in-town” neighborhoods. I don’t think any our friends or family in 5T really care about what some armchair poskim on an internet thread have to say about their frumkeit or pervasive problems with tzinius on the streets of their neighborhood.

I just can’t understand why people are still commenting Lashon hara about a Jewish community. It doesn’t matter how some people dress. Your supposed to look at the good in every single jew. And it just hurts to see so many people fighting with one another about total nonsense.

It doesn’t matter how some people dress.

That attitude is precisely what those posting negatively can claim is what they’re fighting against.

There’s nothing to fight against! We’re all Jews! There’s only ONE that judeges us and that is Hashem! Of course it matters how you dress, but it is not our place to knock another Jew for that. For we have no right to judge.

And “DaasYochid” I am not Chas vishalom saying anything against you. In fact your most probably right. That is exactly what they are arguing about. But still, as Jews we may not look down upon one another.

We do need to judge others’ actions. You, in fact, judged others’ actions (posting) as wrong because you feel it’s lashon hora.

I agree about the looking down, and in many cases, judging motivations and levels of nisayon.

I think what’s bothering you is that you’re getting a feeling that posters just want to knock others to make themselves feel superior, and not l’shem shomayim. You might be correct. Perhaps, though, you might want to constantly if you’re judging correctly…

Either way, wrong is wrong and must be judged as such.

You can’t judge one another for sure, but we definitely need to speak about things that affect other people in the community, whether it’s an issue of bullying in schools or przitus on the street. No I can’t take people aside and force them to do things, but we must think as a community, as a klal what we can do to improve the general atmosphere and makes things easier for people.

For any person that wrote negatively about the 5 towns will have their own problems. However you two who are now making a mock of a post that I wrote to try any stop the Lashon hara and Sinat Chinam of my community that’s a new level of disrespect. I don’t know who you think I am, and quite frankly I don’t care. If you would like to privately email me my one of my backup email accounts, I will gladly meet with you anyplace any time. If your not going to take these matters seriously, then please don’t post on this tread. I don’t need Jews that are just trying to cause problems on a thread I make to try and solve problems.

I agree. Five Towns is growing on Torah and ruchniyus. There are beautiful Kollelim, Yeshivos, Bais Yaakovs, Mikvaos mehudaros, a mehudar eiruv, etc..

The chessed performed by the Baal Habatim towards these Bnei Torah is unmatched in any community.

Most if the negative talked about in the other thread is about a modern orthodox element who shop in town. They don’t know any better and do not think they are doing anything wrong. On the contrary, they respect Bnei Torah and treat them in the highest regard.

I just wish the supermarkets would realize they have this Bnei Torah community here now. The Bnei Tirah don’t need to shop at the expensive lavish stores or eateries in town. But everyone needs food. The supermarkets do give discounts and gift cards to Bnei Torah, but the cost if food is so high, they are squeezing the less affluent families to the extreme.

Five Towns needs Lakewood style supermarkets, where there is selection at affordable prices!

You guys mamish got me. I’m not really sure why I did that MR YW Moderator. All I know is that I am thanking Hashem for every second I am alive. I am thanking Hashem for making me a Jew. And I am very proud to live in a house with a roof over my head. I’m not sure why I am being accused of the person I really am but I know everything is from Hashem. As a member of one of the 5 towns community it is my job to stick up for my fellow community members. I mamish made an account today just to protect my Jewish community from the loshon hara that was being shun upon them. I am a loving new and love my community which is just growing in Torah and chesed. And I feel obligated to stick up for not just my community but for any Jew or Jews that are being spoken about negatively.
    Thank you all very much.

So, despite the town allegedly oozing with Bnei Torah and kollelim, the MO crowd still manages to “not know any better?” Yeah, I don’t buy it. You can’t have it bother ways. Either it’s a separatist MO enclave where they’re shut off from proper halachah, or they are fully aware of how wrong it is what they’re doing.

I think the proper Hebrew grammar would be “Baalei Bayit” not “Baalei Batim” just like it is “”batei sefer” and not “Batei Sefarim” or “Batei Kneset” and not “Batai Kenesiyot”

Is it not worse for some “towns” and “neighborhoods” to post signs on public streets demanding that women must walk on a certain side of the street and/or specifying what THEIR interpretation of hilchos tzinus requires? In some cases, municipalities have defied court orders to remove such signs out of fear of “offending” certain fringe elements of the Chareidi taibur. (Obviously I am not referring to 5T in this regard) Yes, women should exercise common sense and dress appropriately for the circumstances and venue, even if that is not their own hashkafah but there is no legal basis to attempt to enforce tzinius on a public streets, even if some non-religious seem to show total lack of respsect. With regard to this thread, I have been in 5T many times (both for shabbosim and during the week) and just haven’t seen anything that comes close to the flagrant and pervasive disregard of tzinius that some have described here. Fake news.
