there are different halls for different types; min/max # of guests; budget…

Ateres Chynka, Manhattan Beach Jewish Center, Eden Palace, El Caribe, Tiferes Mordechai, etc..

can you tell some of your wishlists?

Eden Palace is a very good deal. they have a package for a 400 guest minimum of $40 a person.

IT IS VERY GOOD. WE MADE 4 WEDDINGS THERE and we were very happy each time!!

tiferes mordechai- new place between flatbush & boro park 600 mcdonald avenue, a bit on the smaller side but could probably fit 400 guests comfortably, dance floor not so big, but again if you’re having 400 it probably fits your needs, beautiful decor- they really focused alot on the interior, which you don’t find with most halls. i was only at one wedding there and service and food were fine, like i didn’t notice anything blatantly bad

ateres chynka- located in flatbush on elmwood avenue off ocean pkwy, much larger and their minimum is like 500 so might not even be an option for you. huuuge dance floor and dining hall, we fit 530 very comfortably and with big dance floor. i go there often for weddings and love the food, and we made a chasuna there ourselves and the service was great, the whole process very organized, they answered all our questions, and alot of ‘extras’ (nicer meats at smorg, choices at meal) were included at no extra cost, it was part of the pkg deal. we were very happy there, but again you have to meet their minimum. the only annoying thing which is a very small detail is that they have a custom-fit canopy on their chuppah and they dont want it to get ruined so they dont let any florist put ANY flowers or toulle or anything on the chuppah, so it looks very plain, but we just put nice flowers in the front and it looked fine- not a reason to not use the hall, im just mentioning it.

you may want to look into tiferes rivka, another new place that just opened.

    mazel tov and good luck!

We were also very happy with Eden Palace. We especially liked that it is on ground level and there is a separate chupah room so there is no pushing and shoving while the waiters are setting up the tables. They took very good care of us and everything ran like clockwork.

    agree w/ above.

Ateres Chynka- just know it’s $20,000. minimum for 500 guests.we made a wedding there a year ago.

Tiferes Mordechai- yes, newer, a little smaller, very nice, prob. cheaper. I’ve been to 2-3 chasanas there.

Eden Palace- very nice. I saw advertised $99 per couple pretty much all inclusive, I believe: food, music, photography, flowers? we couldn’t even consider it because my niece got married there but was tragically niftar w/ her husband 2 years later, :(( … leaving a 4 month old son who survived w/o a scratch, B’H.

El Caribe- very nice place, but I believe it’s a non-Jewish owner, if that makes a difference.

I loved RAZAG, we made our daughter’s wedding there four years ago. They were extremely gracious, the food was great, and we were totally happy. Eden Palace is beautiful, if you are ok with going to Williamsburg,

My wife and I were married in the beit knesset of her synagogue, and the seuda was in the basement. It was a beautiful site for a wedding — far nicer than any wedding hall I’ve ever seen — and we saved a ton of $$.

gr8! go down & book ’em!

we wanted that hall, but our machatunum (groom’s side), who wanted Ohlei Torah, said it was too small, & sort of railroaded us into Ateres Chynka. we ended up inviting EVERYONE we know/knew for the whole affair!

& then, surprise! we made another wedding (our son’s) 6 months later.. & were still in major shock over what we had spent for our daughter’s wedding.

B’H, we have 2 very happy couples!!.. in addition to the 2 happy couples we married off 6 months apart 8 yrs ago!! 🙂

Tifferes Mordechai – Why is everybody calling it a new place? Isn’t that one (I forgot the name) that was just fixed over? Noone calls renovated places as new.

Ateres Chaya is convenient for Flatbush/Boro Park. Mr. Jacobowitz is a mentch and will work with you!!!

With halls in the basement, check out walking down the stairs for safety reasons and make sure they have a permit for a hall downstairs.

Be wary of halls that charge extra for each additional chair they put out or for unionized halls that let you sit only at the table with number on your card, even if it is an error and the table is a children’s table. I had that happen to me in a posh hall and i was ready to leave rather than sit with such as 3-8 year olds. When the person who invited us saw us trying to leave, they literally had to fight for something they were paying for ,big money a bigh $100,000 for the night!

Lets not forget Sasson vesimcha, they own 2 halls, 1 smaller in BP for Bar Mitzvas, Sheva Brachos, one larger on CI for Weddings. Owner is a mentch, a great person to work with. Made a beautiful Simcha. He was the caterer of Aterest Shlomo. Food is great, well priced, and the guy is wonderful to work with.

sounds like tiferes mordechai would suit your needs well, but you have to ask about valet parking because im not sure they have, or you have to pay extra. its stunning hall, will fit ur guests and great price- i say go for it!

I agree, go for it! how much more could valet parking be? [$500 @ Ateres Chynka.] for the price per couple you’re getting, it’s still kadai.

my husband never does valet parking; he finds a spot himself.

Tiferes Mordechai food is excellent and the hall is very elegant and tasteful (light blue and silver and crystal) you have to go down two flights to the hall and you MUST have valet parking because it is nearly impossible to find parking but it is a great option.

there’s one flight of stairs you havta walk up/down & then an elevator @ Tiferes Mordechai.

I like Sissu Vesimchu more than TM- TM is 2 flights down, gives a basement feeling to me personally, Sissu VeSimchu/ Sasson Vesimcha are street level, parking spots in area, great food, conveneint locations, great management and very reasonable cost.

Call them and let them know a happy customer (Simcha in Nov) referred you.

When you say service, do you mean white gloves? Hilton style?

We made a chasuna at Tiferes Mordechai about a year and half ago. Was totally satisfied with every aspect, highly recommended. The manager was extremely pleasant to deal with, very much worked with us. because there’s no carpeting around the dance floor, it makes the size very flexible, and they set up the tables to maximize the dance space. Some people don’t like that everything is in one room. We’re not that fancy, and neither are the mechatunim, so no one minded, and they pretty much have the setup routine down to a science so it’s not too uncomfortable after the chuppah. The chossan/kallah room was spacious, there is an elevator, valet parking was extra, but not unreasonable. And the food was just fine – I didn’t get to eat much at our simcha, naturally, but I’ve had it at others, so that’s how I know (my favorite is the squash soup). In fact, when i wanted to order certain dishes, the manager recommended not when he didn’t feel he’d get top (seasonal) quality at that time. Minimum was 180 couples, we may have had slightly less, i’ve been to other simchas there that were closer to 500, and no problem.

I don’t know what they hold now, but four years ago they SURELY did not hold by that idea. Our wedding was not like that.

my brother is getting married in ateres golda in a few weeks. so i went to to check out a few weddings!!!

they do a stunning stunning job!!!

its very reasonably priced- i thinkt heyre just so well priced because its the beginning and they want to build up a name.

    min 180 couples i thiink.

    i think 75 a couple(mayb 80, but think 75)

    option of valet parking.

    option of indoor chuppa room.

its street level- a big plus.

its vry nice ceiling Moldings, chandeliers, wallpaper, etc.-stunningn designed-very fresh looking.

    very centrally located!!

its perfect place if you want an elegant affair but dont have a huge family to fill up ateres chaya!!!

i think boro park was missing a hall like them!!

i think theyll cater to out community greatly!!!
