Why is it that no shul has a fancy Seudah Shlishit on Shabbos, that’s why I think it should be called instead Seudah Nosh, because all they have for Seudah Shlishit is challah, dips, cookies, cakes, and soda pop!!!

joseph, I have been to chasidishe shtiebelech for Seudah Shlishit, and they had the same exact food as any other shul I have been to for Seudah Shlishit.

Eat at home and make it fancy, or donate to your shul fancy food

We have entree and then fancy meat and rice & vegetable and fancy deserts thereafter for Seudo Shelishis. We consume Seudo Shlishis @ lunchtime [of-course after Mincho Gedolo], when we have appetite to consume a Respectable meal.

I once heard a fabulous parable for this..

There was once a king who hosted a grand banquet for his entire kingdom. People came from far and near to partake in the celebration. Among the people who came was a dear friend of the king.

After the celebrations were over, the king called over his friend and said, “Lets sit down to a small meal, just you and me. It doesn’t matter what we eat – we can even eat leftovers – the main thing is for us to spend some private time together.”

The first two seudos of Shabbos are compared to the grand banquet that the king made. Seudo Shlishis, which is the most elevated of all the Shabbos seudos, is where Hashem tells us, “I don’t care what there is to eat, I just want to spend some private time with you.”
