Nine Arrested Attempting To Bring Korban Pesach On Har HaBayis For Pesach Sheini [VIDEO]

Israeli police arrested nine Jewish men on Monday after they attempted to bring a young goat onto Har HaBayis in what appears to have been an effort to bring a Korban Pesach on Pesach Sheini.

The group, reportedly consisting of young men from Yerushalayim and Yehudah v’Shomron, was stopped near one of the entrances to Har HaBayis while carrying a goat hidden in a Rami Levy shopping bag. A confrontation ensued as the group tried to force their way past security forces stationed at the entrance.

Footage of the incident shows one of the men chanting Shema as police restrained members of the group. A scuffle with a Muslim man near the gate was also captured in the video.

The attempt took place on Monday, Pesach Sheini, the date when, in the times of the Beis Hamikdash, those who were tamei or otherwise unable to bring a Korban Pesach on Erev Pesach were given a second opportunity to fulfill the mitzvah.

In recent years, groups advocating for the restoration of korbanos have made similar attempts to offer a Korban Pesach on this day, often facing arrests and police intervention.

Police confirmed that the suspects were taken in for questioning and that the goat was transferred for veterinary care.

Har HaBayis remains under strict halachic and legal restrictions, and mainstream poskim have unequivocally said that ascending Har Habayis today is assur.

  1. It happens to be that if one is bringing the Korban Pesach Sheni, many of the halachic concerns about ascending Har HaBayis are significantly mitigated. Therefore, this article should be amended. Many poskim are indeed uncomfortable with the idea of bringing korbanos in our time, and accordingly, they do not endorse ascending Har HaBayis for that purpose. But that is not the same as saying it is halachically forbidden across the board.

In the pushback against certain Religious Zionist positions, there’s often an unspoken assumption that bringing korbanos, ascending Har HaBayis, etc., are inherently assur or deviant. The truth is, however, that a strong halachic case can be made—especially regarding the Korban Pesach—that if one has the ability, one may even have the obligation to bring it. This is without even getting into the geopolitical or hashkafic considerations, which are significant but separate.

See Rav Akiva Eiger’s correspondence with Rav Tzvi Hirsch Kalischer, as well as the responses of the Chasam Sofer. Look at the Har Tzvi, Rav Zolti, Karnei HaMizbeach, and others. Halacha does not relate to korbanos bizman hazeh in a simplistic or monolithic way. It is irresponsible to present it as if it does.

So before anyone jumps in with their “two cents,” I suggest you actually go through the relevant sources and ground your arguments in the depth of the sugya—rather than in personal discomfort or ideological reflex. Halacha deserves that much.

This is not an endorsement of the actions of any particular group—it’s an endorsement of amito shel Torah. And if it motivates even one person here to go learn more Torah, then dayeinu.

  2. These wicked Israeli police are self hating jews.
ועשיתם לו כאשר זמם לעשות לאחיו ובערת הרע מקרביך:- These wicked police are חייבים כרת for having impeded these wonderful Jews from bringing קרבן פסח, & failure to bring קרבן פסח invokes חיוב כרת

  3. The only Halachic concern mitigated specifically in the case of Korban Pesach is Tumas Meis. However, there are Rishonim who hold that טומאה הותרה בציבור requires הרצאת ציץ, which requires a Kohen Gadol wearing all eight בגדים, something completely impossible nowadays.

Even if they choose to side with those Rishonim who don’t require a Kohen Gadol to bring a Korban Pesach בטומאה, they still have some hurdles to jump:

    1. The precise location of the Mizbeach is absolutely מעכב לכל הדעות, to the point that Chaggai HaNavi had to reveal the precise location through נבואה when the Second Beis Hamikdash was built (זבחים סב עמוד א) despite numerous people alive who had seen the First Beis Hamikdash… Failure do determine this correctly completely disqualifies any Korbanos and invokes an איסור כרת. There are at least six different שיטות how to begin measuring the approximate location of the Mizbeach, once we determine with certainty the length of an ‘Amah’…

    2. Having somehow determined where to build the Mizbeach, we would then need to proceed to build a Kosher Mizbeach, something no-one has any clear Mesorah how to do… Same goes for the Bigdei Kehunah… We also need 100% certain clarity on the תכלת ארגמן ותולעת שני for the Avnet – belt of the Kohanim… All of these things are also מעכב לכל הדעות, although here it’s not כרת ‘only’ מיתה בידי שמים…

    3. Now that our Mizbeach and Bigdei Kehuna are ready to go, we need כהנים מיוחסים on a דאורייתא level of certainty… So make sure to upload to the Misrad HaP’nim website the marriage certificates of all of your male line ancestors going back to a Kohen who actually did Avodah in the Beis Hamikdash, together with the ‘Teudat Ravakut’ of all the great-grandmothers… Or else, wait for Moshiach to determine your Yichus through Nevuah… (רמב״ם הלכות מלכים יב, ג).

    4. Before you go running, don’t forget that if you want to do the Avoda right, you still have to learn the very complicated Halachos of Kodshim הלכה למעשה, something that took young Kohanim five years in the time of the Beis Hamikdash, when we still had a living Mesorah of how to bring Korbanos, and a Sanhedrin to decide all questions of Halacha. In fact, the Great Sanhedrin sat in the לשכת הגזית, half of which was inside the עזרה, to be ready in case a shaila would come up in the middle of the Avoda.

    5. Let’s give these boys the benefit of the doubt, and say they took all this into consideration… (They must have stuffed their Bigdei Kehuna into the shopping bag together with the little goat…) However, the Talmud Bavli paskens that if the ציבור did not bring פסח ראשון then יחידים can’t bring פסח שני that year… Their Sanhedrin apparently holds like the Yerushalmi… Brave souls…

  4. Endangering fellow Jews by inciting Goyim while they are still in Golus is a pretty serious offense.
You only do that if you care more about being right, than about the safety of your own brothers

  5. This is a very serious incident. ⚠

It happened at exactly 12:05 IDST today, Mon. 12th May 2025. Nine young “religious” Jewish males managed to reach the Gate of the Bani Ghānim, which is on the far NW corner of the Temple Mount/Haram al Sharif-Al Aqsa 🕌.

Staff at the Israeli Police Old City Command Ppost/HQ, above Wilson’s Arch, near the Western Wall, with their CCTV’s failed to realise this group was up to real mischief attempting a Korban Pesach on Pesach Sheini, so they were not stopped before they got to this gate, as many other such “sacrifice” groups have been, before today.

It is clear from all the videos of this incident that this group of troublemakers planned this operation in advance. Seven of them violently swarm the security checkpoint at the gate, which was manned by two male Israeli Policemen and an elderly male Sunni Waqf volunteer. The guy holding the shopping bag with the baby goat concealed inside manages to break through the cordon amidst the chaos. He spends at least 120 seconds on the path 10 metres from the gate, on the actual grounds of the Temple Mount. It is not clear if he managed to slit the throat of the baby goat, but later reports suggest he didn’t. Waqf employees noticed his prohibited entrance quickly and gather on the scene and push him back. Israel Police reinforcements are called and the group of nine is arrested.

The Israeli Police should throw the book at these meshuggeners. They are playing with real fire. 🧨🔥

There is also a question whether they were put up to or even paid to do this act from people and groups like: Dov Lior, Yehuda Etzion, Itamar ben Gvir, Chaim Richman (The Temple Institute) Yehuda Glick, Moshe Feiglin, Tom Nisani (Bayadenu), Melissa-Jane Kronfeld (High on the Har) and Baruch ben Yoseph (Kahane Chai). “The Usual Suspects”. 🤦‍

As I have known since 2004, many people, including unfortunately many Jews, have no idea how sensitive the site is.

BTW… The State of Israel is not the owner or sovereign of the The Temple Mount/Haram al Sharif-Al Aqsa 🕌. e.g. They don’t have the Title Deed. The correct zoning for the site is actually “Crown land that is reserved for a special crown. 👑”

    Stay Tuned…

  6. The Chazon Ish writes that if we could get permission to offer the korbon pesach, we should indeed do so.

Bringing a Korbon Pesach is one of only two mitzvahs which failing to do them results in kares – bris milah and korbon pesach.

The Rambam says that only AFTER we rebuilt the Third Beis Hamikdash will the gentiles realize that they are mistaken.

  7. @147
There is no way that these idiots would have gotten anywhere close to bringing a korban. They would need to be makdish the goat, make sure it didn’t have a mum, they would need a kohen meyuchas with arba begadim – one of them that requires tcheiles vadai, and they would need to determine the exact location of the mizbeiach. Assuming they’ve done all that they would need properly slaughter the goat, do kabolas hadam with a kli shareis, zerika, do a proper hefshet v’nituach and salt and burn the required eimurim using pre-checked wood on the makom hamizbeiach. They would need to do all this with hundreds of Arabs walking around.
Since they would have known that there is no way they would be able to do all that, even if the police hadn’t stopped them, then they knew in advance that they were there for the sole reason only of causing a provocation – especially since they were not carrying anywhere near enough equipment. Causing such a provocation could give them the righteous title of rodef – allowing the police to stop them using any means necessary, up to and including deadly force, if left no other choice.

  8. In order to bring karbonos during Pesach 2, you need to have a valid excuse during Pesach – were they tame in the army?

  9. Let’s leave aside the halachic dispute for the moment. The fact that they raised their hands against the guards (especially an older man) is unbefitting for someone attempting to bring a korban. The fact they videoed it shows it was for a show and not because of an attempt to come closer to the Ribbono Shel Olam. Shame on them.

  10. Israeli Chareidi, thank you. I forgot about the Klei Shares… Something no one even really knows what they looked like, despite the Temple Institute’s best artistic attempts. They also were apparently not carrying a Shechitah knife onto the Har Habayis, something that could have gotten them in major trouble… This was apparently a prank/stunt/provocation, and no more.

BTW, the video camera contains metal which probably was mekabel tumah, and is not necessary for doing the ‘avodah’, so simply carrying it into the ‘azarah’ is an additional issur d’oraysah…

The krum ‘hetter’ of those who go to the Har Habayis ‘just’ to daven is that they limit themselves to the area outside the ‘cheil’, where טמאי מת are allowed to go. It is by no means clear that we can locate that boundary with certainty nowadays, so the accepted p’sak is not to go near there, even in the Arabs didn’t object. Bringing a Korban requires actually entering the place of the Azarah (if we knew where that was, see my previous post.) Unless you really know what you’re doing, that involves multiple איסורי כרת ומיתה בידי שמים ולאוין דאורייתא, aside from the idiotic התגרות באומות העולם.

  11. Don’t forget that no Kohein is permitted to do avoda of any kind until he brings a minchas chinuch, of which of course none has nor could b’tum’ah.

  12. YWN, why do you post “Adam Neira”‘s non jewish messages. This is a jewish site. We can argue within Judaism, but if we wanted non jewish messages, we would go to a goyishe site.

    Thanks in advance!!

  13. Yaakov Yosef A

Can you plz post the sources for the bavli/yerushalmi machlokes??

I was unaware the yerushalmi argued about יחיד נדחה ואין צבור נידחין

  14. Massive Kidush Hashem!!

I wish I had the courage!!

You think yehuda hamacabi was worried what ppl will think when he forcibly retook Har habayis from the non Torah jews or goyim?

You do what you gotta do!!

  15. Happy new year – The source is ירושלמי פסחים פרק ט הלכה א the Gemara there (at least according to one מאן דאמר) interprets the story of Chizkiyahu Hamelech in דברי הימים ב פרק ל that he literally brought the Korban Pesach (with all of כלל ישראל) in ‘the second month’, i.e. Pesach Sheni. That would also imply לכאורה, that the ציבור failing to bring Pesach Rishon, at least באונס, wouldn’t be מעכב bringing Pesach Sheni. Some Achronim point out (I believe the מנחת חינוך brings this, although I didn’t find it right now) that if Moshiach comes between Pesach Rishon and Pesach Sheni, his Sanhedrin could pasken like that מאן דאמר, and we would in fact be able to bring the Pesach Sheni that year like Chizkiyahu.

Speaking of ‘Minchas Chinuch’, although there is a Mitzvah for every Kohen to bring one before doing other Avodos, it isn’t מעכב. The whole list of things I posted earlier are all מעכב אפילו בדיעבד, even when the Korban is בטומאה.

Yehuda Maccabi retook by force a standing Beis Hamikdash that had been forcibly occupied by the Greeks and Hellenists. He didn’t have any of the problems I mentioned in my earlier post. If we had a Navi to locate the Mizbeach (he didn’t need a Navi because the Mizbeach was still standing), a Sanhedrin, a Kohen Gadol with a Tzitz, Bigdei Kehuna, Kohanim Meyuchasim, Klei Shareis, and ashes of the Parah Adumah, and nothing else was missing except getting rid of the ישמעאלים, ‘from the river to the sea by all means necessary…’, then we would in fact have to do just that… But, we aren’t there yet. We hope and daven to Hashem to be zocheh במהרה בימינו אמן.

In the meantime, it is a big זכות to learn as much as we can about the Korbanos ונשלמה פרים שפתנו. Interestingly, the Daf Hayomi this week is all about טומאת מקדש וקדשיו and the various goats offered as part of the קרבן מוסף… The Daf Hayomi in Seder Kodshim proper starts in Elul.

  16. Are Roster says:
The Chazon Ish writes that if we could get permission to offer the korbon pesach, we should indeed do so.

Source please. Doesn’t sound anything like the Chazon Ish…

  17. The main sugya here is Tosefta Psachim 8:2 (partially quoted by yerushalmi 9:1)

R Yuda holds Chizkiyahu is kipshuto.
But other shitos hold not and say chizkiyahu was me’aber Nissan late. I believe there is a Bavli that quotes this too.

Bavli psachim 67a says אין צבור נדחין , but that could just mean that they do it b’rishon b’tuma. But what if they missed it?

    Tana kama of R yuda:
ניתן להם לישראל לבנות בית הבחירה, היחיד עושה פסח שני ואין הצבור פסח שני.

But that could mean we all bring it as a yachid? Each person separate.

  18. Also יחזקיהו is stam shver because they kept חג המצות for 7 days (divrehayamim 2 30:21), and then another 7 days after that, which is not a Torah concept. So it must have been הוראת שעה

  19. Edan Alexander was surely eligible to bring pesach sheni provided tzahal got him there before shkiya on a helicopter. Imagine cnn covering that.

  20. It’s nice everyone has beautiful sources but once again I don’t see any yeshiva bachurim or gedolei hador coming to bring this karban pesach sheni. As if anyone today knows how to do it properly, with all its laws and purities required. Nice try. Let’s just admit it’s a bunch of morons

  21. what’s wrong with all of you? your actually supporting such craziness?! after reading most of your responses I am disgusted by your support of these shkutzim… every thing about this is a GIANT chillul ‘ה, Happy New Year- please think before you write something next time.

  22. Happy new year – There are many kashas on the maaseh of Chizkiyahu. The main mehalech appears to be that he was מעבר the year at the last minute, or after the last minute, instead of bringing the Korban Pesach בטומאה. There were הוראות שעה involved according to all מהלכים. The reason he held he had to do this is because his father Achaz had stopped the Avodah, and died Erev Rosh Chodesh Nisan. Chizkiyahu would otherwise have had two weeks to remove Avodah Zarah, renovate the Beis Hamikdash, be מטהר all the keilim that became טמא, teach everyone all the Halachos, etc., which he saw wasn’t going to happen on time. It’s also possible Chizkiyahu made a seven day חנוכת הבית when he reopened the Beis Hamikdash.

The Gemara there gives several possible scenarios how the ציבור would not have been able to bring פסח ראשון at all, including if more than half of כלל ישראל were טמאים in some form of tumah other than טומאת מת. At any rate, Moshiach would in fact have the power to invoke הוראת שעה, or pasken against the Bavli, something these kids obviously are not qualified to do…

Always_Ask_Questions – To be eligible to bring Pesach Sheni based on דרך רחוקה doesn’t require being אנוס. Simply being outside a certain radius from ירושלים for any reason, even במזיד, is enough. Edan Alexander is most definitely obligated to bring a קרבן תודה at the first opportunity…

It seems that at least part of the intent of these kids was to get people thinking and talking about Korbanos and Korban Pesach, something they did actually accomplish…

  23. To “Happy New Year”,

My real, legal name is Adam Neira, so no need to place it in quotation marks to try and depersonify me. Maybe you could also post your real name instead of hiding behind a pseudonym. Show some courage!

FYI, I am descended from King David via Solomon on the patrilineal line. This was proven 100% via detailed Geneaological research going back to my Great-Great-Great Grandfather (1786 to 1832) and a DNA Test, both done in 2003. Various Rabbis and expert Jewish Genealogists can confirm this.

Be careful who you cast aspersions on…

P.S. Have you read “המשיח האמיתי” by Aryeh Kaplan? 🤔

  24. All right, Adam Neira, I agree. You are Moshiach!!
In 25 years we will all be welcoming you.

יחי אדוננו מורינו ורבינו מלך המשיח לעולם ועד

Oh btw, can you please tell us your Y-haplogroup??
I’m actually doing a lot of research into this.
It would be awesome to know the Y gene of King David!!

  25. To Happy New Year,

This is not the correct forum to explain various things but a couple of points:

    (1) The Redemption is a process. It doesn’t happen in an instant with the click of G-d’s fingers. This counter-balancing process has been going on since August 1995, but in ways many people have not perceived and don’t understand. The website I created and organisation I founded in April 2000, “World Peace 2050” is a long term project and vision. It also means by that time, the HMS International will be put on the right course for true world peace to unfold over time. Thus your little aside that המשיח will be welcomed in 2050 misses the point. i.e. That המשיח facilitates and oversees the Redemption process. He is in the movie as an actor, producer and director.

    (2) Last month I replied to the following question, an American, Scott Davis, asked:

    “Will Moshiach know if he’s Moshiach…” 🤔

    Yes.

The revelation from G-d to the person anointed as המשיח is a process. Similar to what Moses experienced when he was called to his mission. Moses experienced a range of emotions, sometimes all at the same time. e.g. Pleasurable Curiosity. Shock. Surprise. Calm. Validation for what he had gone through. Fear. Invigoration. Lethargy. Renewal. Confusion. Clarity. Over time, he understood his identity and role with crystal clarity and reassurance. He knew he was a נָבִיא. To deal with his scepticism he also did his own research and testing of his role and connection to G-d. He was also very careful to not reveal his identity and mission until the right time and only to the right people. The last of the dyed in the wool Hebrew sceptics were Korach’s followers. After that time in the Exodus story, all the Hebrews in the camp in south Sinai, recognized his sovereignty and leadership. Of course, after this time Moses becomes the most important figure in human history. Without him, there would be no Judaism, Christianity or Islam.

    (3) I don’t like your יחי אדוננו מורינו ורבינו מלך המשיח לעולם ועד quote. It reeks of Mesichist Lubavitcher delusions regarding the “Second Coming” of M.M. Schneerson. 🤦‍

    (4) There are many Jewish males alive today who are descended on the patrilineal line from King David via Solomon. However, this mandatory requirement for המשיח is absolutely not the key detemining factor of his success or mission. As you are aware there is great controversy about the Davidic Lineage DNA aspect but your Y-haplogroup question is a Red Herring. There is not enough space here and it is the wrong forum to present my findings on the DNA question of Davidic Ancestry. I am happy to sit with the best experts on this question to discuss this area of science. It would make a great live webcast, over a few days of course.

    (5) The process I went through from 1995 to 2002, the year when I discovered that my Great-Great-Grandfather on my patrilineal line was 100% descended from King David via Solomon on the patrilineal line, was a crystal clear case of השגחה פרטית. It’s a remarkable story that is totally verifiable.

That’s enough discourse with you for today.

מגלה דברים עמוקים וסודיים; יודע מה בחושך, והאור שוכן עמו.
