Chareidi Soldier Verbally Assaulted by Egged Bus Driver

A chareidi soldier, a Chabadnik, who was returning home from his base boarded a 301 Egged bus traveling from Ashkelon to Tel Aviv when suddenly the bus driver launched an unprovoked verbal assault against him, Dossim.com reports. The soldier had to leave his base early due to a chain of events unrelated to the story.

The driver shouted “exploiter, you remained for lunch and now you are running away. You guys cost the state a great deal of money!”

The soldier, who was taken by surprise, did not even bother to explain that as a rule, he does not eat in the base. Passengers did not intervene on his behalf.

The soldier filed a complaint with Egged but has since retracted it because he did not wish to harm the driver’s parnasa. The soldier’s wife is quoted as telling Dossim her husband was deeply pained by the verbal assault and is contemplating what action should be taken.

Dossim was unable to obtain a response from Egged prior to publication.

  1. This suggests that the issue is not whether or not Chareidim serve in the army, but rather a general problem of biogtry and prejudice on the part of the hiloni ruling class.

  2. The Chillonim are an endangered species, like the Neanderthals were. How do you think a Neanderthal felt when he saw Homo sapiens? The drivers actions are quite understandable.

  3. So the man behind the wheel of that bus was a representative of the hiloni ruling class (Akuperma), of an endangered species (Aryeh), or of the government (419elm)…. Maybe he was just a poor fool? The victim of his foul remark seemed willing to think so.
