PHOTOS: Swastikas & Hate Messages Found In Williamsburg

The NYPD’s Hate Crimes Unit has been sent to investigate a bias crime in the heart of Williamsburg’s Chasidic community, YWN has learned.

Swastikas and hate messages were found by local residents on Friday morning, with one swastika painted on the sidewalk on South 10th Street and Berry Street, and other hate messages painted on South 8th Street and Bedford Avenue. One hateful slur was the word “NAZI” spraypainted on an NYPD police line.

Williamsburg Shomrim (WSPU) received calls to their hotline reporting the swastikas and dispatched their members to investigate. Upon their arrival, they contacted the NYPD’s 90th Precinct, and Hate Crimes Unit.

NYPD Detectives are looking for any cameras in the vicinity which may have captured the neo-Nazi who is responsible for the latest hate-crime to hit the Chasidic community in Williamsburg.

Shomrim are reaching out the community, and asking if anyone saw anything suspicious, they should please call the 24hr Williamsburg Shomrim Hotline at 718-237-0202.
