“Targets Are Marked”: Israel “Prepared To Renew War Against Iran,” Awaiting “Green Light” From U.S.

Israel says it is prepared to escalate its confrontation with Iran, with senior officials indicating that the next phase of military action could hinge on approval from Washington.

Defense Minister Yisrael Katz said during a security assessment Thursday that Israel is “prepared to renew the war against Iran,” adding that the IDF has both defensive and offensive plans ready. “The targets are marked,” Katz said.

Katz indicated that Israel is waiting for a “green light from the United States” before proceeding with potential strikes, including operations aimed at senior Iranian leadership and key energy infrastructure.

“Israel is prepared to renew the war against Iran,” he said, outlining a strategy that would deliver “devastating blows in the most painful places.” He added that such an operation would build on prior strikes and could significantly damage Iran’s economic and energy systems.

The remarks come amid ongoing uncertainty over the status of possible negotiations and instability in Iran’s leadership structure after the rise of Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, who is said to be severely injured, disfigured, and effectively sidelined by Iran Revolutionary Guards Corps generals.
