IEC Techs Attacked by Chareidim in Bnei Brak

Israel Electric Company reports technicians who came to Bnei Brak to repair a transformer on Thursday were attacked by chareidim”, compelling them to leave the area, which now remains without electricity.

It appears residents feared the transformer was being replaced by a more powerful unit that would release dangerous emissions. IEC officials state the technicians were trying to repair the unit, not replace it, adding the electricity to the area will not be restored until the transformer is replaced. No timetable was mentioned. The technicians were uninjured.

  1. How about TALKING and ASKING the technicians what they were doing, instead of beating them.

On the other hand, if this report comes from the secular media. it could be that that is exactly what the chareidim, upon which the IEC employees ignored or insulted them, upon which the situation escalated.

In other words, we don’t know what happened or who is to blame.

  2. Of course, Daniel. Whenever electrical technicians ignore my questions, I beat them up. It just makes sense.

  3. DAnile your first question should have been your last this was on thursday not shabbos and we know that there is a history of rock throwing. our peole have no respect for our religious leaders why should they respect repairmen better to be without electricity then allow them to work
