Foreign Ministry: No Israelis Injured/Killed in Haiti Earthquake [UPDATED 10:17AM IL]


132.jpgIsrael Foreign Ministry officials on Wednesday morning released a statement that ministry officials in the Dominican Republic, responsible for Haiti, report that to the best of their knowledge, there are no Israelis among the victims in the Haiti earthquake. Officials add however they have still not made contact with all the Israelis in Haiti.

Government officials also announce on Wednesday morning that a decision has not yet been made regarding the possibility of dispatching aid to Haiti following the disaster.

10:05AM IL – The family of former Voice of Peace Radio founder Abie Nathan is expressing fears regarding his daughter, Sharona Elsaieh, who lives in Haiti. Her children are in the United States and Israel. The family has turned to the Foreign Ministry for assistance.

In a related matter, IDF Brigadier-General Dr. Nachman Ash, the military’s chief medical official, is preparing to send a relief team, adding he has not yet been in touch with Foreign Ministry officials.

10:17AM IL: Foreign Ministry officials have still not established communications with at least 10 Israelis believed in Haiti.

  1. she doesnt live there. she “lives on a boat three miles off shore” like her family supposedly did — he got no penalty, arutz sheva is prosecuted!
