can anyone tell me how to change my username on ywn? i emailed them a few times but i never got a response. thanx

This is good to know, because at some point, I hope to change my name to BP Zeidi! (I think I'll skip BP Shver or BP Mechuten)

the Brocha has no expiration date, so they should keep it active in Shamayim till needed

Your welcome. Two points to keep in mind are a. you still need to login as ketzies, although your posts will show up as commonsense and b. all your old posts in the CR now show your posts under your new screen name - yet other posters may have referred to you as ketzies in their responses to you - making it slightly tricky for someone reading the conversation now to understand who they are talking to.

i am not such a prolific poster that it should really be an issue to anyone. When i became a member years ago i did not realize that my username would be posted by each post. there are some people who know who i am so i kept my opinions to myself most of the time. i wanted to be able to express opinions anonymously.

Why is it not working?? I changed my nickname, then made it display as my nickname, then clicked 'update profile', and the 'display as' went back to moishy!!?? Why did this happen??

i also want to change my user name. how do i do it? also, i want member under my user name - i think it's time to try to earn a new subtitle. mods? anybody?
also, anybody have some good suggestions for a new name?
possibilities include:
hanib (backwards for binah)
banana (sounds little similar to binah)
serenity (cuz it's a nice thing to be) or tranquility (for same reason)all suggestions will be considered. thanks!

Should work. I just changed myself to choc2 and it updated.

moishy: i changed it back again. I meant that I tried it out and it worked. if you can't get it to work, perhaps just create a new username. (it won't let you put in the same email address twice, so first change the email address of your current name)
binahyeseira: why do you want to change? It's a nice name and fits you.

go to your profile - click on your name at top left, where it say 'welcome moishy'. then on 'edit' at the right.

chocandpatience - You didn't get a blank page when you trie changing your name? And is the way you made the link on your name, by doing the same method as the "click here" in the nickname box?

several reasons i was thinking of changing it, but most compelling one is that if someone knows me, it's very obvious who i am. i know that no one who posts here regularly in real life knows who i am, but no question, if a lurker knew me well - they would easily identify me. one such lurker already did. no question. the person said, "you are binahyeseira". the only part that the person didn't understand was my screenname - didn't get that part of all, which is of course why i like it so much. but if i want to write more, i don't want to feel self-conscious - i'd like to write completely anonymously.Posted 5 months ago # -

moi aussi: I never ignore anyone. I probably didn't notice your post. By the way, I think the mods mentioned that their email accounts are no longer in use. So you probably won't get a reply.
rb: no. i updated and it refreshed the profile details. it took quite a few seconds, though.
binah: if you want to change your name for security, then don't discuss the name you're choosing. Otherwise anyone looking at archives will know who you are.
Also, create a new username, don't just change your current name. (And it probably is wise not to use an email address which gives away your real name.)

choc - Opera, Google Chrome, and Explorer and none of them work. I went to the update information page, changed nickname, clicked update information and I got a blank page.

Try this link (while logged in), and click "profile" on the top left.

don't forget to click 'update profile' after you make the change
