The other day I was with a guy I know, and he was eating a pickle. And the pickle made him very happy. He then ran around and tripped over something, but he was still very happy, because of the pickle. Then he lost his pickle, which made him cry. But I gave him another, and then he was happy again. I like pickles too, but pickles don’t make me feel such joy. Am I eating pickles wrong?
Perhaps.
Your question has no bearing on the story you told. Just because person A likes or does not like a pickle does not mean that you are eating one correctly or incorrectly. They are completely independent of each other.

when your friend eats a pickle he is completely involved with his eating of his pickle and nothing else. When you eat a pickle you are still concerned with all your previous problems and the pickle does nothing to change that
Either chocolate or pickles make me happy. But chocolate makes me happier than pickles do. Chocolate is a legal drug.

Wanna hear a story about pickles that make people happy?:
A few years ago, my younger sister was by her very yeshivish friend after school and it was Rosh Chodesh so after they ate supper the mother said “now it’s time for the special rosh chodesh treat” and my sister thought to herself yay it’s probably ice cream or something good and on a big tray the mommy brought out a sliced up pickle and each child recieved thier very own slice. The kids were so excited and my sister was like rolling on the floor!
