5:00PM (Friday): There is a serious car accident on Anawana Lake Road in Monticello. The crash is near the Satmar Camp (Kutshers), between Kutshers Road and Whittiker Road. The Monticello Fire Department and Mobilemedics are are the scene treating multiple victims – possibly four.
The Sullivan County Sheriff Department is on teh scene investigating the one-vehicle crash, in which the vehicle landed 25 feet into the woods, and down an embankment. All occupants were self-extricated prior to the arrival of emergency personnel.
Anawana Lake Road is currently closed from Fraser Road to Whittiker Road.
