Senator Lieberman to Address Agudah Convention

(Wednesday, November 26th, 2008)

lieb21.jpgConnecticut Senator Joe Lieberman will address Agudath Israel of America’s 86th National Convention, taking place this weekend at the Stamford Hilton in Stamford, Connecticut.

The Senator is scheduled to address the convention delegates and guests at approximately 8:30 P.M. during the Motzoei Shabbos Keynote Session, and is expected to join then in the convention’s expression of tribute to Rabbi Shmuel Bloom, who, after 34 years of service to Agudath Israel, is stepping down from his position as the organization’s executive director; and in offering words of congratulations to Rabbi Chaim Dovid Zwiebel, Rabbi Bloom’s successor in that post.

Senator Lieberman, who has appeared at Agudath Israel anniversary dinners and Washington Missions, was close to Agudath Israel’s late legendary president Rabbi Moshe Sherer, z”l.  After Rabbi Sherer’s passing ten years ago, the Senator has retained his close relationship with Agudath Israel’s national and Washington offices.

Very impressive. Sen. Lieberman retained his chairmanship of the Homeland Security commitee and is well positioned to help our Yeshivas and our institutions. He has been a great friend to the Aguda and his attendance at the convention speaks volumes. I’m sure he will be warmly recieved.

Can someone ask him if he is still against freeing Jonathan Pollard. Senator Lieberman is the only religious Jew that had access to all of Pollard files and rumor has it that he was against freeing him. What is his opinion today and what does he feel we should be doing about it?

He’s mostly irrelevant. He bet on the wrong horse.

#2, You made a strong statement as though it were a fact, but then you disqualified your statement from being a fact.

Either way, now is the time to make appeals to free Jonathan Pollard. http://freepollardnow.com/
