B’chasdei Hashem Jewish Man Escapes Death in Eastern Yerushalayim Attempted Lynch

parFor Nuri Chananya Tuesday, 20 Iyar 5773 will be a day he will never forget. Nuri, who runs the tziyun of Shimon HaTzaddik, is frequently in the Shimon HaTzaddik area of the capital, a predominantly Arab-occupied area of the holy city.

The attack occurred at about 13:00 as he was traveling through the so-called Wadi Joz area of the eastern capital on his way to the tziyun. As he was traveling he noticed a number of youths were blocking the roadway. At some point he head the youths shout “Jew” and then others joined their colleagues and began bombarding his vehicle with rocks.

Nuri realized he was in life-threatening danger and hit the gas and Baruch Hashem the attackers cleared the road. He then traveled to the closest police station to file a report. He explained at one point they managed to roll a boulder onto the vehicle’s roof, getting too close for comfort.

That’s because you don’t know how the lynches work, apparently.
When there is a driver in a car, they surround the car and start throwing stones. If the driver ch”v doesn’t hit the gas like Nuri Chananya did, he usually slows down. You can figure out the rest. . . Hashem yishmor.

  2. Because they probably would have tried to lynch him had they had the chance. I don’t know why people still go through Wadi Joz, i know someone personally who was almost lynched in wadi joz, he drove thru there by mistake and they started stoning his car and he has no idea how he got out of there but bh he did and has to make a seudas hodoah every year.

  3. Imagine if he had lost control of his car and had run over several of these “Quakers.” What a tragedy! Suppose he then backed up and ran over more of them like Djokar Tsarnaev ran over his brother.
