Mr. Saeed Darawshe, 31, the father of the infant killed in the firebomb attack in the PA (Palestinian Authority) village of Duma, has become the second fatality after succumbing to his injuries, burns over his entire body. While the case is viewed by most as a so-called ‘price tag attack’, police have yet to rule out that the attackers were not Arab. The mother of and a 4-year-old brother of the infant killed continue fighting for their lives in a burn unit.

Hundreds of PA resident took part in the funeral for the young man who died in Soroka Medical Center in Beersheva while calling to avenge the death of the father and son. Prior to the funeral PA residents burned tires and attacked Israeli forces with rocks and burning tires.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu released the following statement after hearing of the death.

“I express deep sorrow over the death of Saad Darawshe. When I visited family members in hospital last week, I promised that we would use all the tools at our disposal to apprehend the murderers and deal with them to the fullest extent of the law and this is what we are doing. At last week’s Security Cabinet meeting we made decisions to assist the fight against terrorism, including in regard to administrative detentions and advancing anti-terrorism legislation. We will not countenance terrorism of any kind.”

The PA performed an autopsy prior to the funeral and the report from the procedure will be used in the case filed with the International Court of Justice in The Hague against Israel.
