VIDEO: A Probe Ordered Into Beit Shemesh Incident Of Possible Police Brutality Against A Chareidi Male

Capture[VIDEO IN EXTENDED ARTICLE]

A video that went viral on social media has compelled the Justice Ministry police investigations unit to probe what appears to be serious abuse of authority by a policeman.

In this video, taken in Beit Shemesh, a policeman appears to have unjustifiably used his taser against an unarmed chareidi man. The story accompanying the video explains the chareidi male exchanged words with the policeman. The situation then turned violent, he was hit with the taser and downed to the ground and restrained.

The investigation continues amid demands the policeman should be suspended and held accountable for his actions.

  1. Can wait to see how the anti-chareidi bashers (who comment on this website) defend this one. The frum guy clearly had no weapon, nor resisted arrest. There also was no confrontation when the pathetic excuse for a cop started to ruff him up.

I hope they make an example of this cop and punish him to the greatest extent allowed by law. He should not only be fired, but also charged with assault.

  2. The Police in israel are extremely unprofessional this is not new and unfortunately these kind of things happen daily.

  3. Apparently, this is an edited video & the “victim” was driving recklessly, refused to stop on police orders, nonchalantly parked his car & strolled off. There is a lot more to this story & I live in Beit Shemesh. Yes, some police are rough and abusive but you think these Chareidim are innocent? Check out the hafganot that they carry out every week. And yes, I am considered to be Chareidi/chassidic. But I can’t defend “my kind” when they are in the wrong just because they dress the part. I & my friends and neighbors are sick of these people destroying our neighborhoods and disrupting our lives.

  4. #4 computerbubby – congratulations for being the first to prove my point (see comment #2)! With all said and done, even if everything you said was accurate there still was no room in this case for using a taser. That was purely done out of anger. Tasers are dangerous and at times kill. This was clearly a case of excessive force!
