🚨 TERROR IN MONTREAL: Civilian, Police Officer And Suspect Dead After Shootings in Jewish Neighborhood [VIDEOS]

A Montreal police officer was killed Monday after a gunman opened fire in the city’s Côte-des-Neiges neighborhood, triggering a massive police response and an imminent threat alert that sent residents scrambling for shelter.

Montreal police confirmed that one officer was killed in the line of duty.

“It is with immense sadness that we confirm the death of one of our police officers in the line of duty,” the SPVM said in a statement. “Further details will follow.”

Authorities later announced that the suspect had been “neutralized.” Police said the operation remains ongoing and urged residents to continue avoiding the area.

According to police, the incident left one police officer dead, another officer injured, and one civilian dead. Officials have not yet released additional details on the sequence of events.

The shooting occurred outside Supermarché PA Westbury and the kosher Deli770 restaurant, in the heart of one of Montreal’s largest Jewish communities. The apartment complex where the shooting unfolded is home to many Lubavitch families and is located near Beth Rivkah Academy, the Chai Center, MADA, Yagdil Torah, kosher restaurants, and other Jewish institutions.

Initial reports indicated the gunfire began at or near the Hilton Hotel before the suspect moved toward the area. Police have not officially confirmed those details.

During the manhunt, Montreal police issued a rare imminent threat alert, warning that an armed and dangerous suspect was on the loose.

“If you are in the affected area, shelter indoors, lock the doors, stay away from windows and follow instructions of local authorities,” police said.

Roads throughout the neighborhood were shut down, including the northbound Décarie Expressway (A-15) exit to Côte-St-Luc Road, as heavily armed officers searched for the suspect.

Montreal Mayor Soraya Martinez Ferrada said she was closely monitoring the situation, writing that her thoughts were “with everyone affected by the tragic incident.”

The investigation remains ongoing.
