Is There Eida Kashrus In Uman?

(Tuesday, September 20th, 2011)

The Eida Chareidis has published a message to the tzibur ahead of Rosh Hashanah stating loud and clear there are only two facilities with its hechsher in Uman this Rosh Hashanah.

The kitchen of Kehilas Chassidei Breslov Kirya Emunah Uman and kitchen located at 21-A Piushkana Street (Kollelei Orot HaNachal and Hisachdus HaAvreichim) are the only two with Eida certification for yomtov, and this providing they display teudot kashrus, original documents, not photocopies.

Eida officials warn that there are many who purchase Eida food and then feel they have the right to advertise they are under the hashgacha of the Eida Chareidis, when this is simply not true. It is clear to all that buying food is not sufficient to obtain a hashgacha, but arrangements must be made for supervision of the food from Israel to Uman, as well as preparations, heating and serving on location.
