1:09PM IL: The sirens heard in many northern Israeli municipalities a short time appear to have been a false alarm Baruch Hashem. Sirens sounded in many areas including Kiryat Shmona, Maalot and the Galil Panhandle, compelling tens of thousands of residents to enter bomb shelters and safe rooms.
Despite reports of a false alarm, a number of northern residents have telephoned, reporting they heard explosions. Military officials are investigating the cause of the malfunction. (Yechiel Spira – YWN Israel)
