The answer is simple. You have started from the wrong place.
We start with the line that G-d is right.
So malach hamoves is wrong so the shoichet is right etc etc till we come to the cat being right.
So far so good!
So then we come to the kid being wrong, but what did he do? I dont understand??
But thats where the Emunah kicks in. If you start with the premise that G-d is right but end up with something happening we dont understand thats why we have Emunah G-d knows what He is doing whether we understand or not.
