Agreed. May I ask all those who see this to read the Netziv’s introduction to Bereishis. He describes how a trend of sinas chinam among Bnei Torah, one which I fear has been shown on many recent threads. We are guilty of the same sinas chinam as former generations. תנו עיניכם בבירה – if this were not the case, the geulah would have come. Arguing לשם שמים is fine, but it is clear from a number of posts that this is not the motivation of everyone. You know who you are.
