Adv. Dovid Peter, a prominent Israeli lawyer who has become well-known in recent months for his representation of clients in several High Court hearings, spoke to Galey Yisrael on Thursday about the increasingly frightening situation in Israel— a country held hostage by unelected judicial clerks.
Speaking about the appalling police abuse of Chareidi protesters on Wednesday morning, he said, “This is much more than selective enforcement. There’s no rule of law in Israel—there’s political violence wielded by the law enforcement system. It is political violence in every sense.”
“In other words, the state’s monopoly on the use of force is being employed for political purposes and based on political considerations. I’m saying something extremely serious here, but unfortunately, that’s how I see the situation.
“The one at the head of this system is Attorney Gali Baharav-Miara, who was dismissed by the democratically elected branch, namely the government of Israel, and serves today only because of a judicial order.
“Any system in which the monopoly on power is not in the hands of the citizens or their elected representatives cannot be called a ‘democracy.’ And therefore, we are in a much deeper problem than we’re comfortable admitting,” he concluded.

Wow good morning
For the leftists; this is called “Democracy”
Blame it on baharav & sohlberg ימח שמם וזכרונם
147, Justice Sohlberg is an orthodox Jew. YOUR COMMENT, UNLESS YOU BEG HIS FORGIVENESS, WILL GIVE YOU AN ETERNITY IN GEHINNOM.
Well said!
Just late. This should have been said years ago. Avichai Mandelblit was better, but not much better. There is no framework or boundaries that these people are bound by. They’ve usurped powers that are not theirs and everyone is mum about it.
Can you imagine Moshe rabbeinu coming to complain to Pharaoh about selective enforcement of work norms?
Why can’t a large group of religious jews who were zoche to be born in a Jewish country and not in catholic spain or soviet russia find a way to cooperate with other Jews instead of complaining?!
