REPORT: Israel-Lebanon Talks Expected to Address Recovery of Missing IAF Navigator Ron Arad’s Remains After Nearly 40 Years

REPORT: Lebanese media reports that upcoming negotiations between Israel and Lebanon will include discussions on recovering the remains of missing Israeli Air Force navigator Ron Arad, according to Amit Segal.

Arad disappeared in October 1986 after bailing out of his aircraft over southern Lebanon following a technical malfunction during a combat mission. While his pilot returned safely to Israel, Arad was captured by members of the Shiite Amal militia and became the most famous missing Israeli soldier in the country’s history. His fate has remained unknown for nearly four decades.
