Is their hashgacha on Friendly’s ice cream reliable?
July 11, 2011 12:17 am at 12:17 am #784730zahavasdadParticipantI think you mean MVH… Vaad of Massachussets.
If you do not keep Chalav Yisroel it is fine. Its a big Haschacha in New England based out of Boston

July 11, 2011 1:56 am at 1:56 am #784732plaidMemberI believe they also give hashgacha in Baskin Robbins – and I have the same question…
July 11, 2011 2:24 am at 2:24 am #784733DroidMemberJust cause something is “a big hashgacha” doesn’t mean its necessarily good. Just saying. I don’t know who this is and its reliability. But that answer “it’s big” doesn’t mean a whole lot.

Contack the KVH on your own…..

July 12, 2011 8:41 am at 8:41 am #784738abcd2ParticipantMost friendly Ice cream is KVH and reliable, however, also depends if you are talking about prepacked friendly ice cream in supermarket or friendly’s that is served in the restaurant. If in the restaurant itself, you might have other Kashrus issues even though the ice cream is kosher. While i have not been to one in a long time, some restaurants have a completely separate ice cream area where the utensils are used only for ice cream and have there own sink area (it is just in the same building)sometimes even has separate entrance, but otherwise you might have to think twice about buying from a friendly’s restaurant.
