More important than the Asifa is making the tools necessary to use technology in an appropriate manner available to everyone at a reasonable price. I still have a sour taste in my mouth from the “kosherphone” that charged a ridiculous monthly fee for 100 minutes (at the time, for the same price, I was able to get a plan from verizon for 3x the minutes). If price gouging will be the norm very few people will utiluze these tools. Personally, I still think K-9 is a wonderful tool. Coupled with the fact that my wife and I share the password to the computer (we each enter half the password and dont know the others part) and the computer is in a very public place (the dinig room table – it is a laptop), along with K-9, we feel we are on course with what the gedolim (at the very least our Rav – which at the end of the day is what matters) want.
