There is a trick to it, and the person reading the megilla can take in extra breath without stopping completely by doing a little trill every couple of ‘v’ess’ – when you do a trill as opposed to keeping the same note you actually breathe in a little at the same time.
Having said that, it only just about keeps you going until ‘aseres’.
