ZeesKite: Yom Yerushalayim celebrates the day that the Israeli army re-captured the Old City of Yerushalayim (including the Kotel) in 1967. There are famous pictures and videos of the soldiers when they got to the Kotel. They were literally fighting building to building, and did not really know the layout of the area well. Suddenly, they came around a bend, and there it was – the Kotel. The soldiers broke down and cried, overcome with emotion knowing that this holiest of locations was now in Jewish hands once again.

What is Yom Kensington? Does it celebrate the day there was fighting in the streets over the “Eruv”?
