Personally I think a “behind the counter” person may very well be better for marriage. I know financially it sounds bad, but on the other hand you have a husband. In many professional jobs they have extra late hours, Shabbos they are knocked out tired, nervous or pressured and Sundays to many times they can be busy too.
FYI, I don’t work so you can’t say I am favoring one side.
