I don’t get some of the responses. If you want to experience the mind altering effects of alcohol its not l’shem mitzvah? The mitzvah is to experience those effects. At this point I would like to announce that I ate a cheeseburger last night. I stand by it and am proud of it. I knew I would not be able to be omeid benisayon, so I did it. It seems that it has become popular to announce different things done against halacha in the CR. If you can’t drink on Purim don’t; but why are you proud that you couldn’t do a mitzvah?
