I don’t think the problem with movies, TV, etc in the frum community was ever really with the idea of sitting and watching; I think it was more with the content, and the fact that kids weren’t staring stupefied at screens all day was just a convenient plus.

I turned out basically fine,
no offense, I’m sure you are fine, but that is a lame argument for anything. Smokers use it all the time. So do people who don’t wear seat belts, don’t eat healthy, don’t daven with a minyan etc. Maybe you were just exceedingly fortunate.
