A—I DID NOT KILL HIM; I DON’T KNOW WHO DID KILL HIM

B—I DID NOT KILL HIM; I WAS NOT AT THE MURDER

C—I DID NOT KILL HIM; ‘A’ WAS NOT WITH ME ATTHE MURDER.

D—I DID NOT KILL HIM; ‘A’ IS SAYING THE COMPLETE TRUTH.

remember 1 liar 1truth 2 half

1murderer 1witness 1guy who knows who did it 1 innocent

step number 1. there is only one statement that is true in the second statements.

since there is only one complete truth, everyone must use their truths to make themselves not the murderer. the complete liar is naturally the murderer.

2. with this explained ‘d’ second statement can not be true since he is saying ‘a’ is the complete truth. therefore it is false and ‘a’ is not saying the complete truth—meaning he is one of the halfs. so we no d is saying at least one lie and a is also.

3. naturally ‘a’ is saying the first truth and second false since only the complete false is the murderer.

4. going back to ‘d’ if his first statement is false [murdered] than it will come out either b or c is lying on the second statement [their first statements are true since ‘d’ is the murderer] now no matter how you put ‘c’ true or false he is still the witness. just the matter is whether a is there or not.

so if c is lying there will be two witnesses a and c so that can not be.

and if b is lying than b was there and c still has to be there so it can not be d

5.so d must be true on the first and false on the second and a is true on the first false on the second–meaning he is the guy who knows who did it.

6. so we have left a complete liar and complete truth.

now if b is truth and c is lie it will be some sort of answer but we will never find out who knows- it cannot be ‘a’ since he is the witness and ‘c’ is not the witness since he is the murderer.

so we will never know who knows and i wrote their will be a definite answer.

7.now if c is true and ‘d’ is false everything works out.

a true lie knows who did it.

b false false–murderer

c true true– witness

d true false-innocent

this is the only way it works

there is one big hint in this riddle about who knows… ‘a’ is the only one who talks about knowing and since we are not just making assumptions it must be him

you chap?!?!?!?!
